Charming Song Dynasty Jianjian (Tianmu) cups with unique color glaze formed during the firing process, 100% handmade by Master You, not just a Jianjian ceramic cup, but also a cultural heritage.Jianzhan wares are from Jianyang town in Fujian Province. They became popular during the Song Dynasty and were prized throughout China, Korea, and Japan. By the Ming Dynasty Jianzhan wares fell out of favor, but luckily the tradition was continued in Japan for centuries and was eventually re-introduced in its original birthplace (Jianyang Fujian) in the 1990's. Jianzhan glazes are all basically the same, but due to different firing temperatures and positioning within the kiln, the fired glazes are unique from each other. They are typically separated into five distinct styles.
Jianjian glaze is colorful and therefore has a high artistic appreciation value:
Rabbit-hair glaze, ebony glaze, oil drop glaze, partridge spot glaze, obsidian glaze, miscellaneous colors glaze, black glaze, tortoise crack glaze, tea powder glaze, persimmon red glaze, etc.
